FISH FOUND IN KEYSTONE LAKE

Below are some of the fishes that you will find at Keystone Lake:

WORLD RECORD PADDLEFISH

Keystone Lake is home to world record paddlefish, also known as spoonbills. The largest paddlefish to record was found on Keystone Lake in June of 2021 at 164 pounds.

LARGEMOUTH BASS

Fishers can find themselves among some of the greatest population of bass fish while at Keystone Lake. The lake is ranked one of the best for largemouth bass and offers fishers an opportunity to fill their ice chest with this freshwater creature.

CRAPPIE

It has been said that crappie is the best freshwater fish in Oklahoma. The best season to fish for crappie is during the winter months and they can be found in points, rocky or bushy areas.

ADULT WHITE BASS

The white bass is Oklahoma’s very own state fish and gets its name from its silver color. These bass can be found in open water during the day and on shallow shoals at night. white bass is often found in open waters and near bridges.

STRIPER BASS

Striper bass are considered a night fishing favorite in the area. It is best to fish for the critters in the early morning or at dusk. They move in large schools and are found in open waters, The stripers are rarely near a shore, so fishers will need a boat in order to find them.
